Abuelas de Plaza de Mayo institutional website

Abuelas needed an institutional website that would keep alive the active search for the grandchildren who disappeared during Argentina's last dictatorship, that would reach every corner of the country, and that would at the same time build collective memory and teach new generations about the legacy of their struggle.

We developed the site through a participatory, inter-co-op approach, bringing in several FACTTIC co-ops. The site puts Abuelas' goals first: it gives visibility to the search for the missing grandchildren, tells the story of the organization and its work, and builds a space of memory that is accessible and national in reach.

An institutional website that puts the active search for the missing grandchildren front and center, makes it easier for the grandchildren and siblings who come forward to take that step, and creates a living archive of collective memory that carries across generations.
