The bank needed to migrate its core banking system to a new platform without interrupting day-to-day operations. This was a highly critical system, with years of accumulated business logic, in an environment where any incident had a direct impact on customers and regulators. The complexity of the project and the operational risk made an abrupt migration unfeasible.

FinQuality needed to bring its digital financial education offering together into a single modern platform, capable of delivering reliable, up-to-date and accessible financial information to very different kinds of users. The challenge was to build a solution that would not only provide market data and educational content, but also practical tools for tracking investments, managing portfolios and handling the commercial side of client relationships for advisors. The platform also had to be scalable, secure and ready to work with real-time information.

One of the main challenges in both projects was migrating legacy systems to a new, more scalable and maintainable technology. That meant reengineering the existing applications to understand the business logic in place and carry it over correctly to the new solution, working side by side with different teams at the bank. We also had to work out how the new system would integrate with multiple satellite systems in order to retrieve and synchronize the information needed for day-to-day operations. Another significant challenge was defining and implementing architectural solutions to improve performance and cut processing times in critical components of the system.
